On the evening of July 4th atonishing and exciting news broke that the DPRK had test launched several missiles one after one another. The missile test launches sent the US imperialists and expansionist Japanese militarists into a state of panic. The DPRK spoilt the US's so called 'July 4th Independence day' and the birthday celebrations of 'Dubya'. The din kicked by the US and Japan were quickly echoed by their satellites, marrionetes and those decieved or bought by the US imperialists.
Each missile fired was a blow against US imperialism.It demonstrated the tenacity of Songun Korea led by the great leader Marshal Kim Jong Il in facing down US imperialism,the sworn enemy of mankind.
The missile launch powerfully demonstrated the genuinely awe inspiring might of Songun, and the vitality and correctness of the self defensive military of the Workers Party of Korea, the superiority of the DPRK independent national economy and the socialist system.
What angered the US imperialists and their sycophantic followers was not simply that the DPRK demonstrated its powerful self-defence capacity namely that it has missiles capable of hitting the US mainland but the fact the DPRK defied the US and others in testing the missile. The US imperialists had repeatedly demanded that the DPRK should not test the missile. Of course, this an incredibly brigandish,arrogant, high handed and outrageous demand as the missile test was being carried out on DPRK soil as part of a rountine military exercise. The US has no business whatsoever to tell the DPRK what to do in its own country. Moreover, it is extremely hypocritical of the US to say this as they test missiles all the time and have the world's biggest stockpile of nuclear weapons but witht the US it has always been 'Do as I say but dont do as I do!'. Japan and south Korea joined in the 'don't test the missile' clamour, then some allies of the DPRK even chimed in .
Thus the DPRK defied the US imperialists and their followers and some other big countries in test firing the missiles, not just one but seven! These days no other country has defied the US and other big countries in such an obvious manner. The imperialist media bleated about 'north Korea's defiance' as if it was a terrible crime. The UN, which is rapidly losing its authority and crediblity,was set in motion to try and punish the DPRK.
The US imperialists are seeking to rule the whole world, to create a greater Yankee empire with military bases all over the world not to mention the 'cultural superstructure' of US imperialism, namely McDonalds and Coca Cola. The US has pushed the concept of 'globalisation', an insidious concept which seeks to ulitmately destroy nation states. The independence of many peoples has been wantonly and cruelly trampled down by the onslaught of US imperialism under the leadership of its neo-con wing and its mouthpiece Bush. In the past 10 years the US has attacked or invaded Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq and greatly expanded its network of overseas military bases into regions of the world where an US imperialist military prescence was previously unknown.
Comrade Kim Jong Il wisely forsaw the danger to the DPRK and announced the Songun or army-first policy on the 1st of January 1995, when he was giving on the spot guidance to soldiers of the Korean Peoples Army (KPA). He warned that the Korean faced the choice of either becoming the colonial slaves of imperialism or going along the path of independence charted by giving priority to the army. By applying the Songun policy of giving priority to the army the DPRK was able to build up its independence and advance along the road of Juche.
The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung defined the requirements of Juche and its practical application as: "In order to become the master of its own destiny,a nation must have an independent government and firmly guarntee political independence. This is why the Juche idea should first be embodied as the principles of independence in politics......"
and
"Taking an independent position is the prime criterion of any sovereign state. Only when a nation exercises its legitmate right to self-dertermination, can it ensure the country's complete independence."
Thus Songun ,by recognising that independence is defended and advanced ,through military confrontation with imperialism, fully enhances Juche and provides an effective buttress for it.
Korea is now becoming the centre of a worldwide fierce standoff between socialism and imperialism, and between independent forces and the reactionaries of history. The U.S. imperialists are spearheading their attack on the DPRK, which is invariably holding high the red flag of socialism.
The DPRK's missile launch on the morning of the 5th of July was actually a graphic demonstration of Juche and Songun in action. The DPRK bravely asserted its independence against the interference of the US imperialists and their followers and satellites, against the UN and against big countries. The DPRK has emerged as a powerful independent country of Songun led by the great leader Marshal Kim Jong Il. It is becoming a poweful nation of Juche, a world power in its own right. The people of the world fighting against US imperialism and 'globalization' now look to the DPRK.
